There is a meme doing the rounds about what lawyers appreciate.  Ernie the Attorney has a great post about what he appreciates as a lawyer, as does Denise Howell.  Me?  Well, as an attorney in a solo practice I really appreciate my clients who have faith in me to handle their work properly; clients who communicate openly with me about their concerns and goals and clients who pay me when payments are due.  This last one sounds really materialistic but as I pointed out, I am in a solo practice so when a client doesn't pay me, it impacts not just my bank balance but also my ability to support my family.
