TechCrunch has reported that Google has hired iRows founders, Yoah Bar-David and Itai Raz, who have announced that iRows will shut down at the end of this year. iRows, as the name suggests, is a web based spreadsheet application that goes a little further than Google Spreadsheet in that it, for example, allows users to create graphs as well based on the spreadsheet data.

This is clearly another push into the web based office space and comes after an acquisition of JotSpot a little while ago. It seems that Google is taking in all of the know-how and technology in use in sites like JotSpot, iRows and Google Docs and Spreadsheet (and whichever other services Google will acquire in the future) with a view to launching the much anticipated Google Office (or whatever they will call it).
