Do you have friends who just seem to forget about you for months on end and only contact you via text/sms or email to let you know they are alive and to offer an excuse for not taking an interest in your life? 

I have a couple friends who I have known for a couple years at least who have this annoying tendency to do just that.   I keep asking myself what the point of regarding these people as friends is?  Surely friends take an active interest in your life?  I am hardly the best example of a good friend, I tend to get wrapped up in my life and can go for a couple weeks at a time with little contact but even then I manage to get together with my friends and catch up.

Ugh!
