So I was browsing through the newer posts on Coffee-Shop Schmuck and I noticed a reference to the 2005 South African blog awards.  And there I was labouring under the mistaken belief that the local blogging scene was grossly under-developed and limited.  It turns out that there is quite a number of South African blogs in the blogosphere.  Certainly enough to merit a South African blog awards!

Take a look at the winners and runners-up.  I am going to spend some time looking at these blogs.  I am keen to see what my fellow South Africans are blogging about and what South African blogs are like.  I tend to model my blog on some of the American blogs I read (and I don't always succeed) so any 'cultural' differences will be interesting.
