Paving the way for the next ruler of Japan

The article titled "Aiko gets nod to rule Japan throne"; published on CNN.com, looks into the next in line after Crown Prince Naruhito succeeds his father, Emperor Akihito, as ruler of Japan.  There is a law in place which restricts heirs to the throne to men.  Unfortunately, no male heirs have been produced in the Royal family for quite some time now so that law is set to change to allow women to accede to the throne.  This would make Princess Aiko the next in line after her father, Crown Prince Naruhito.
