I always use the Posterous browser toolbar plug-in, though I find it's a little buggy. Usually end up posting the bulk of the article then logging in to Posterous to edit the post page. But it's a great feature and why I am using the service for the source of all my media streams. E-mail functionality is of course awesome as well.

The only reason I don't use Posterous is its inability to allow JavaScript in the theme. When they start allowing JavaScript I might revisit them.

Hi, I'm one of the founders of Posterous.com.

Our goal at Posterous is to make posting rich media dead simple. We actually don't believe in "pre-defined content types". That actually makes it harder to post. Why should I have to make a decision about what I want to publish online? Why am I limited to one image, one mp3, one video per post?

With Posterous, you simply email us *anything* and we'll convert it to the most web friendly format and do the right thing. Multiple photos (which you saw) turn into a gallery, video, audio, documents, all get embedded in flash players.

And supporting email turns out to be great for iPhone users out there. You can email multiple photos from the phone now, video on the 3gs, and audio in the Voice Memos app. It all works perfectly

Have you tried mailing multiple photos now that Tumblr added the PhotoSets feature? Should probably work now.

Thanks for posting this, Paul. I think lifestreaming is a great option for those who want to provide a bit more visceral experience than status updates can provide.

With that said, I'm a big fan of Posterous.

I dont publicize my posterous account, rather, i use it to autopost to my other accounts. my tumblr is my blog, it where i put and share everything. but its great to have a tool like posterous to push out to all of my accounts.

anyway, only problem. the images i post from the posterous bookmark tool come in as text posts in tumblr. is there a way to configure it to post as an image post?

thanks

I like Posterous because it's clean & minimilistic and use it as a substitute for Twitpic only. Haven't tried Tumblr so I cant compare the two. I really like Posterous so not going to bother with Tumblr.
