I purchased this scanner for documents only. For my photos, I will still stick to using a flatbed for the sole reason that not matter what, for photos, I do not like the idea of anything moving touching the photos.

That is odd. There is only one version of Adobe Reader. The version that actually let’s you do stuff is Adobe Acrobat Standard/Pro. What I was saying is that the ScanSnap comes with Acrobat Standard 7 and not the reader software unless your earlier version did, in fact, come with just the document viewer.

Hey Paul,

My review doesn’t say that the ScanSnap is without Adobe V7. I mention that:

“Once the drivers and software are installed you’ll need to install Adobe Reader Standard. V.7 is supplied and it worked simply and effectively too. I wish that there was more for me to write regarding the installation but there isn’t. It really was that simple.”

Direct quote above states that Adobe reader standard V.7 is supplied and worked!!
