IT and telecom lawyers not on the Web?

I have just tried to look up an IT and telecoms focused law firm operating in Johannesburg and they don’t have a Web presence. How can any law firm, especially a law firm specialising in IT and telecommunications not have a Web site?

Most law firms have an inward focus when it comes to their website, talking more about practice areas than the markets, industries or businesses they are meant to serve. Which is something accounting firms have mastered.

  • Don't worry, there are more people out there that think they are in business in the virtual world but don't represent themselves that way. There website are stiff, old and outdated.

  • Exactly. It can often be a case of people jumping into a space they don't really understand and hoping the buzzword wave will carry them.

  • Hi Paul,
I feel the same way about PR firms - most of the ones I come across offline have either no online presence or have one that is so pathetic and out of date that it is shameful.
And it makes one wonder - if PR firms cannot understand the value of an online identity, then how can they serve their clients optimally?
