And the winner of American Idol is …

After Melinda was sent home from American Idol, leaving Blake and Jordin to battle it out for the prize, I had to post a follow up here. I was relieved to see that Jordin Sparks has won American Idol (to the extent being number 1 on the show makes a huge difference – Blake and Melinda will probably both have record deals in the coming months anyway). Here she is with her final performance which took her to the top position:

    Sorry about that! Watch the performances anyway, Jordin's singing was great. I ahven't watched Blake sing but then I wasn't really his fan.

    I did not feel like sitting up till 4am to watch the final, so I PVR'd it to watch this afternoon. And I have been VERY diligent in avoiding all websites/blogs that could ruin the drama of the result. And I make it through ALL 65 feeds on my feedreader, with great success. And then, at the very bottom of my blogroll, under the "W", when I least expect it, and 5 minutes before I stop web browsing ..... i read the wired gecko post! Aaaagh!

    And, and, and .... I wanted Blake to win!

    But no hard feelings. Afterall, we DO live in an instant, on demand world, no ?

    Dude, no ways, I thought blake was better (does this sound ridiculous or is it just me??). I would love to see blakes performance and then decide who i thought was better!!

    Otherwise, thanks for breaking the news and saving me two hours tonight!!
