Welcome to blogging. The thing is, you are the kind of person efforts like the Blog Awards are aimed at in the sense that they are meant to generate awareness of blogs and other new media and to encourage people who are not part of the geek/jeek/A-list blogger crowd to start blogging.

I’m new to the blogging scene, just put up a website and plunged in .Immediately I felt intimidated by the atmosphere of the cliques. It was the racists/negative propagandists on the one side and the techie/in-crowd on the other.

Tertia is right, I knew about the award and didn’t put it on my blog – I’ve done so now and will be rooting for her all the way.

Is it not interesting that same group keep coming up when it comes to the controversy?

I agree with tertia that someone should have blogged about the Booker thing but, to be honest, I didn’t even know about it.

However, this SA Blog awards is serious because it makes us all look mickey mouse, not just those involved.
