If you have blogs running in your company it is a good idea to have a policy in place to govern acceptable uses of those blogs. On the one hand there is a need to preserve and promote the authentic voice and on the other hand, it is a form of corporate expression so it needs to serve the company.

The LexBlog blog has a list of sample blogging policies. It is a good idea to have a policy customised for your specific needs and probably incorporated into an acceptable use policy dealing with acceptable uses of your whole IT infrastructure. Cutting and pasting from other companies’ policies tends to go a little pear shaped if you are not really careful.

Let us know if you need help building a policy for your business. We do that sort of thing now.
