A personality split

I’ve been thinking about this blog and how it has worked for me since I started it over a year ago and I have decided to make a change to it.  I am going to split off my personal stuff into a new blog about me and continue posting all the interesting stuff to Neuvo that you are accustomed to that doesn’t relate directly and exclusively to my private life.

If you would like to access my private blog, drop me a mail and I’ll send you the link.

Otherwise, I am now back home and should be blogging in the next couple days!

Local podcast directory … apparently

ITWeb has reported on Internet Solutions‘ podcast directory called ‘Podfarm‘ which is intended to showcase local podcasts and bring the phenomenon that much closer to South Africans:

A directory for South African podcasters and listeners went live this month, hosted by Internet Solutions (IS).

A podcast is a feed of audio or video files placed on the Internet for anyone to subscribe to.

The IS Podfarm serves as a catalogue of a variety of local and international podcasts, says IS product specialist Jeff Fletcher.

“As the technology catches on, more and more people want to access specific podcasts, so we have anticipated the need for a single public repository,?? adds Hillel Shrock, new business development director at IS.

Podfarm links to 11 podcasts, from a ‘Moneyweb power hour’ to Rodger Goode on 5fm. The programmes vary in length, depending on their nature.

Fletcher believes the directory will help to unearth grassroots podcasters by giving them a promotional avenue.

The big question for me is “Where the heck is Podfarm”?  A Google search didn’t bring anything up and a search on IS’s website similarly brought up peanuts.  Surely you would want this newfangled service to be easy to find?  Even on Google?

Update:

ITWeb responded to a commented I posted on their site and informed me that the URI of Podfarm is http://www.podfarm.co.za.  I probably could have worked that one out … :-P

Breaking radio silence …

200602091928

Although I am supposed to be preparing for a lecture tomorrow morning, I couldn’t help but notice that there are rumours about a totally revamped video iPod.  ThinkSecret reported on insider talk about the real video iPod that uses the full front of the iPod for screen space and incorporates a new digital click wheel that appears and disappears when you touch the screen:

Think Secret can confirm recent rumblings that Apple is nearing completion of a completely revamped video iPod that will shed the ubiquitous mechanical click wheel for a touch screen and will sport a 3.5-inch diagonal display.

This video iPod, which has been in development and on the table since before Apple released the 5G iPod last year with video playback, will feature a display that will occupy the entire front face of the device. Sources who have seen the device report that it features a digital click wheel, one that overlays the touch-sensitive display and appears when a finger touches it and disappears when the finger is removed.

If these rumours are true they would only add to the reasons Steve Jobs pisses me off!

Things are gonna be a tad quiet for a little while around here …

Yup, the wedding is fast approaching and the closer it gets the more things need to be attended to so this blog is probably going to go quiet for a while.  We are heading off on honeymoon in the next week or so and I’ll probably only be back and blogging at the end of the month.

Wow, this year has gone by so fast!
