Why do we meet people?

Do you ever meet someone and seem to get along really well only to find that in the ensuing months that friendship languishes and never really comes into its own?  For some reason you just don’t connect again and it becomes an occasional thing?

I believe everything in our lives happens for a reason and that we are presented with seemingly infinite opportunities in all areas of our lives (also known as "choices").  Ultimately everything in our lives has significance and meaning and yet there are relationships with don’t seem to have much significance at all and become ghosts of relationships that could have been.  I just don’t understand it.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, things tend to go like that.

Logically, I think there are just too many variables (time/place/circumstances/emotion) for things to consistently progress like we would like them to. That being said, putting in effort makes a big difference!
